Hotel La Carica

The rooms were clean and breakfast was amazing, but the younger woman at the front desk with long blonde hair made our check-in awful. I asked about check-in and passports, and she started mocking me. She brought over a coworker, and the two of them laughed and looked at me. I’ve never had this happen anywhere else on my trip to Italy. I try to be polite and speak a little Italian, so seeing someone in customer service act that way really shocked me. The older woman seemed uncomfortable, but she was much kinder and more patient with my little Italian. We’d hoped to stay a few more nights, but that attitude put us off and we found somewhere else.

We had a very unpleasant experience. For days, they didn’t answer our questions about checking in late at 11 p.m. The day before we arrived, I had to call. They simply told me, “You can cancel your reservation, but we can’t wait for you.”

For an overnight stop, this family hotel is handy, reasonably priced, and gave us a very warm welcome. Breakfast has a huge choice, and there’s a friendly restaurant attached. The accommodation is basic, with small balconies and ensuite bathrooms, and the rooms aren’t very soundproof. We really appreciated the welcome, the price, and the convenient location.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked La Carica Hotel again for the return trip from the south. We’d originally planned a stop near Lake Garda on the way down, and the family rooms were a good price, with parking and breakfast included. There were four of us, two adults and two children.
