Agriturismo Lerno

We left Alessandro and his family feeling very grateful for how they made the end of our trip to Italy so special. We stayed with my partner in August 2023, and the hosts were welcoming and easygoing throughout. The farmhouse looks out over Lago Lerno, with hardly any cars around apart from the occasional visitor heading to the nuraghe on the property. The road is fine, with an unpaved stretch only near the end, and I think it was recently improved. Alessandro also has a card machine that worked well when we paid for our food and drinks. Dinner is Sardinian home cooking. Antonella can make filling pasta, meat, and dessert as you like, and the antipasti were the best I’ve had, even after trying plenty. If you fancy another beer, a quick nod to Alessandro does the trick. Just ask if you need anything else. We needed food for the airport, and Alessandro made us a couple of huge meat and cheese wraps with Sardinian bread. Breakfast was nice too, especially the local honey. Our room was pleasant, with an antique bed and a lovely view. Closing the shutters during the sunny part of the day kept it cool and comfortable. There were surprisingly few mosquitoes, so we could leave the window open at night. That also gave us a chance to enjoy Sardinia’s incredible night sky. There are some interesting places nearby. I’d particularly recommend Nuraghe Santu Antine, and you can visit the Domus de Janas of Sant'Andrea Priu while you’re there. We also enjoyed the Grotta di San Michele and the archaeological museum at Ozieri, then had a superb pasta lunch at La Torre. All the best to Alessandro and his family.

The mountains and shining lake make for a magical setting, with the relaxing sound of cowbells around you. The local food was amazing and the hospitality really special. Don’t miss the chance to experience it!

A traditional Sardinian farm stay right by Lerno Lake, in a peaceful, beautiful spot where you can unwind and get a real feel for Sardinia. I’d recommend it to anyone.

We booked late in the evening and arrived just an hour later, but the couple running the place welcomed us and even offered us dinner. They were really friendly. The room was spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable, so we were very happy with our stay.
