I’d give it less than one star if I could. I’d checked Booking.com first, where the price was 59 euros, then contacted the owner directly. At check-in, when it was time to pay, he asked for 75 euros instead. I said I’d wait and book through the app to save money, since the direct price was even higher. After a while he started bargaining, as if he were selling carpets, and came down to 55 euros. I only stayed because it was too late to find somewhere else. The room, on the second floor of a public building, was extremely dirty and unwelcoming, with no hand soap. The owner didn’t want electronic payment, apparently to get out of trouble, and didn’t register me on the guest portal either. It all felt like a room by the hour. Horrible, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. This place should definitely be closed down. Never again.

We paid €100 without getting an invoice. The room smelled strongly of sewage, there were used shampoo and shower gel bottles in the shower, and I found hair on the sink and on the top sheet, between the sheet and the bedspread. The bedspread was stained too. Breakfast wasn’t served in the room, just a few packaged items. At 9:45, the owner knocked to remind us to leave, as though we were late, then disappeared. The apartment was in a condominium on the outskirts of town, and I thought the price was too high for the room and the “services offered.” Luckily, we found somewhere much cheaper with many more amenities for the following nights.

The room itself was clean, but I’ve never before found a bathroom without a toilet seat. Its ventilation was awful, leaving the bathroom smelly and unpleasant. The room is very narrow, so the balcony is the only place to sit, and that only works when it’s warm. The view is dismal and the setting suburban. The photos make the place look good by showing only the positives. It’s an apartment in a popular area that seems to have been divided into as many rental rooms as possible. The price is high for the quality. Using the kitchen is impossible.

The owner seemed friendly, but his words didn’t mean much to me. The apartment is about two kilometers from the sea. Cleaning felt very superficial, though we did get clean sheets and a small welcome with fruit and a bottle of water. The shower was broken, so I had to hold it by hand. The water was cold and came out very slowly, and I had to rinse my daughter with cold water. Breakfast was croissants and a piece of cake from a few days earlier, which seemed out of place for the season and the health and safety regulations. I’m very disappointed and definitely won’t return. Patti has plenty of B&Bs that are certainly more comfortable. Guests pay a lot and deserve the utmost comfort and respect.
