The room was very clean and the owner was friendly. My bedroom windows looked out over the Duomo, right in the center of beautiful Pavia. It’s a superb little Hotel, and the room was excellent and very reasonably priced. There’s no lift and the stairs are steep, but I really enjoyed the stay and will definitely visit again soon. We happened to be there for the 500th centennial of the war of Pavia, with incredible art and Tapestries displays at the Castle. It was a great exhibition and experience.

The building and rooms are beautiful, full of charm, and true to the age of the city and its surroundings. Everything about this place is amazing, from the staff and rooms to the location. You can walk to everything you could want or need. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stay with them. You won’t regret it.

That view is hard to beat, and the place itself is such a lovely surprise. The antique pieces are arranged in a really clever way, and the decor is gorgeous. We loved staying here in Pavia. You can also have a delicious continental breakfast at the Arnaboldi Palace, which is a very tempting extra.

The hosts welcomed us warmly and were generous with maps and local information. Our top-floor room looked out over Piazza Duomo, yet stayed quiet. The old building has been beautifully restored, and the room had everything we needed. Highly recommended.

We come to Pavia regularly to see family and wouldn't stay anywhere else. La Stanze del Cardinale is right in the town center, on the piazza with the city's Duomo. Paolo made us feel very welcome, and our room was roomy and comfortable. It's incredible value, and we'd happily recommend it.
