Podere Il Renaio

We had such a good stay and would happily come back. The hostess was easy to contact and always answered our questions. The detached house has no direct neighbors, and there’s loads of room outside, including a huge garden, pool, outdoor bar, table tennis, and table football. Inside, it’s very spacious, with air conditioning in every room, reliable WiFi, and a large kitchen stocked with what you need, even a grill and pizza oven. The fly screens in every room were especially welcome because there were so many mosquitoes. You’ll need a car, and the nearest supermarket is 10-15 minutes away, but it’s a handy base for day trips around Tuscany.

The location is wonderfully quiet, with beautiful Tuscan countryside all around, and several lovely small towns and Agriturismo’s are an easy drive away. The villa itself is a bit dated but otherwise up to standard. There’s no air conditioning, so be prepared for the intense summer heat. Mosquitoes were no worse in number than elsewhere, but their bites were brutal. Bring very strong repellent, our natural, eco-friendly one seemed to attract them. The table tennis bats need replacing, so don’t expect an Olympic-level match. We ran out of the three rubbish bags provided, so buy more when you arrive. Also, a feral cat tore into the bags we left outside. An outdoor bin would help future guests. There’s a hot tub, but guests aren’t allowed to use it, which is frustrating.
