La casa di Nonno

After a long day on the trail, this was just the right place to settle in. The house was clean and well equipped, with basics like coffee, tea, and oil ready in the kitchen. We’d planned to cook, but the grocery store closes on Wednesday evenings, so that didn’t work out. Laura was very helpful, even when we accidentally locked ourselves out.

We stayed at Laura's while hiking the Way of St. Francis. The apartment was spotless, bright, and well equipped, with a balcony, a garden, and a lovely village view. Many thanks from Annemarie and Hanspeter della Svizzera.

The location is fairly close to Florence, and the price reflects that well. Inside, the kitchen and bathroom work fine, and the two small bedrooms plus a tiny third room with just enough space for a bed were sufficient for us. The decor could use an update, the view wasn’t much to look at, and we could hear the neighbors from 6:50 a.m.

The owner was so helpful, and the house had all the comforts we needed. She offered homemade olive oil, herbal teas, and coffee, and I could buy olive oil and wine at excellent prices. It was a memorable stay.
