It was mediocre.

Mr. Baselice, our waiter, was so very polite, and the owner, Mr. Francesco, was a great help. We spent three days there over Easter weekend, and the room felt very welcoming. The local wine was good, and the food was excellent without being over the top. The value for money was excellent too. We’ll definitely be back!

A disastrous visit. We were left waiting an hour just to place the order, and when someone finally took it, it was incomplete and wrong. Nobody asked what we wanted to drink, either. We’d asked for ham pizzas, but two arrived with mushrooms as well. The mixed pork grill for 14 euros was tiny, just a slice of pork and a piece of sausage, and it came out in two batches. One pizza had a hair in the dough. We ordered grilled chicken breast but got a nearly raw thigh instead. They couldn’t manage any requests outside the menu, and it was hard to communicate with the waiter, probably because of the language barrier. The covered veranda was extremely hot, with no air conditioning or even a fan. I really wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms in the renovated farmhouse were lovely and had all the comforts, and the service was reasonably good. Still, I wouldn’t go back after this experience. Dinner was awful: the pasta was overcooked and the fennel sausage burned. Breakfast had very little choice, and the food was nearly always raw or overcooked. On our third evening the meatballs were pretty good, but the potatoes alongside them were RAW. We also saw the cat eating from the plate. On the way home, I got food poisoning and ended up in an ambulance. We’d arrived to find our assigned rooms, which weren’t bad when you looked at everything else. What a shame.
