At night, fireflies guide you back to your campsite and make it feel a little magical. It’s a beautiful area for walks or cycling, including on electric bikes. The Dutch couple have been running this relaxed place for 20 years and speak Dutch, English, and Italian. Three times a week they prepare a meal, and Annalies is a brilliant cook using local ingredients. I wouldn’t be surprised if her cooking deserved two Michelin stars. The views across the area are astonishing. But shhh, don’t tell too many people about this hidden gem.

You get a 360-degree view from this bed and breakfast, which sits almost at the top of a hill.
