Relaxing Beetween Lake And Castle 1St Floor

We were staying at an Airbnb nearby and came here for breakfast. The service was great, and the views were beautiful while we ate.

Breakfast had a great range, and the restaurant meals were excellent with plenty to choose from. It’s a lovely little family hotel in a beautiful spot in the hills above Varenna. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was spotless.

The location made for lovely walks through wildflowers, and the castle next door had lake and mountain views so beautiful I got a little teary. The hotel itself is a fun maze to wander around. It takes about 10 mins to hike down to Varenna downtown, though the climb back is a bit much, so a 5 min taxi is easier. Rita and the staff were so warm and attentive. She checked our arrival time several times and met us at the train station, then arranged a taxi for our departure. Rita had thought of everything: toiletries, hair dryer, laundry detergent, tea and coffee, a kettle, a fridge stocked with water, and extra blankets. When our charger converter didn’t work, she lent us one right away. She also gave us tips and suggestions, and the cutest, sweetest dog hangs out there too. The rooms were big and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed and pillows. It was quiet and peaceful at night, and we slept like babies. Breakfast was fresh, homemade-feeling, and had lots of variety. Rita even cooked us extra eggs when we asked. Thank you so much for having us, Rita! ❤️🙏🏼

The staff were friendly, the service was great, and the food was delicious. Their espressos were lovely too.
