Varenna Balcony by Wonderful Italy

We really enjoyed our two nights here and would gladly recommend the B&B. The host was accommodating, breakfast was nice, and our room was just right. The Villa sits behind the train station up a bit of a hill, though it isn’t far. Varenna town is about a 10-minute walk downhill, so anyone with a mobility-related disability should keep in mind there’s quite a bit of walking to get to and from town.

The hosts were exceptional, and our charming first-floor room with a terrace was clean and comfortable. It’s a lovely bed and breakfast style place, very close to both the train station and the ferry wharf. Recommend!

The room was private, very clean, and comfortable, and we had breakfast in the garden each morning. The owner and his wife were so welcoming and helpful with local attractions. They even translated an email for me. I’ve stayed at many B&Bs, and these were the nicest people I’ve met. I can’t say enough good things about the villa. If you’re thinking of visiting the area, it’s a great place to stay. You won’t be disappointed.

Being close to the ferry and train stations made it easy for us to visit the different villages around the lake. The town itself was about a 10-minute walk; we’d head in for dinner and enjoy gelato on the way back. Our room at Villa Varenna was clean, larger than we expected, and had a very comfortable bed. We could hear some street and train noise, but as city dwellers we weren’t bothered and it didn’t affect our sleep. Breakfast was great each morning, served outside with gorgeous mountain views. It worked perfectly for us.
