The house has loads of character, though there aren't many modern comforts. Giovanna was such a lovely, friendly host. The pool is large and has lots of loungers, and there's a nice restaurant on site. Be aware that the top-floor rooms can get very hot in summer, but they'll provide an electric fan if you ask.

The villa is lovely, with a well-proportioned building that's been carefully renovated and furnished. There's a good-sized pool in the grounds, and the restaurant is in what used to be the chapel. The food is very well prepared with fresh ingredients.

The park and those beautiful horses are part of what we enjoy so much at Il Poggiolo. We also love being out in the countryside while staying close to town and lovely places to visit. Giovanna makes us feel at home every time, and we've already stayed at Villa Poggiolo twice. We’re hoping to come back again.

Andrea made our family holiday feel warm and welcoming. We stayed in villa Lilla, where the grounds are lovely and spacious, and there’s a nice pool too. You can also have breakfast, lunch and dinner there. We had a wonderful time in Poggiolo.

I’ve been back to this gem dozens of times over 20 years, and each visit makes me love Il Poggiolo a little more. For a quiet, relaxing break in one of Umbria’s most picturesque spots, this is the place. As I said in my other review: best agriturismo ever.
