The hosts are what made this stay so memorable. I'm deeply socially anxious, and being somewhere new with a language barrier usually makes that worse, but their warmth and patience helped me feel safe and welcome. They helped me communicate through the evening and the next morning, and even drove me out late at night so I could try something authentic. I only wish the photo I took of the three of us hadn't come out blurry. If I ever return to Perugia, I'd stay here again. I arrived for a wedding the following day after multiple flight delays, landing late and without a European SIM card. I had no data, maps, or translation apps, and was struggling to find food or make myself understood with my patchy Italian, simple English, and awkward gestures. The host called a friend to translate over speakerphone, then took me to Vineria La Fraschetta in a beautiful village. We got there just half an hour before closing, and I had my first taste of authentic Italian food before they brought me back. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, set in a very quiet stretch of countryside. Its furniture, decor, and surroundings gave it a rustic feel that made me comfortable despite being thousands of kilometres from home. After the exhausting trip, soaking in the tub and going straight to sleep was just what I needed. Breakfast was generous, with more baked goods and charcuterie than I could finish, freshly made scrambled eggs, good morning coffee, and lovely, thoughtful conversation. In the morning light I noticed historic features around the property, including basins and plumbing, city emblems, an old oven, and pieces of an aqueduct. The host and her friend happily explained their history, with some details tracing back to Roman-era engineering.

We had a really nice stay and would gladly come back if we're in the area again. Our host was warm and helpful, and even brought in a friend to translate when we arrived and again at breakfast so we wouldn't run into language trouble.

A charming place with lovely attention to detail, and a really good price. Recommended!
