Podere Caldaruccio La Pineta - Bungalow

We can’t wait to return to Podere Caldaruccio. This quiet corner of Umbria brought us comfort, beauty, and a real sense of authenticity, and we left with a piece of our heart there. The hilltop location gives you lovely views in every direction, with all kinds of plants and trees surrounding the property and preserving its original charm. Our apartment was spacious, tastefully furnished, and equipped with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, the linens were high quality, the bathroom was always spotless, and the WiFi was fast and free. The furniture is refined, including a bed headboard that belonged to a Count. Outside, there was plenty of privacy, a large sun umbrella, a table with wrought iron chairs, a wicker lounge set, two modern sun loungers, and two comfortable Izmir chairs. The pool has a shallower, safer area for children, and there’s a playground with a wooden treehouse and table football. The educational farm gives children a chance to interact with animals and learn about local agriculture. The hosts welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home, with thoughtful details and a genuine effort to make our stay memorable. The staff were very helpful and clearly committed to giving each guest a special experience. Languages (5/5): Italian, English, French, and German.

The children loved spending hours by the pool, and there was plenty of outdoor space for them to play and explore. We had a great family stay at Podere Caldaruccio with our 2 young children. The spacious accommodation had a great kitchen and good bedding. By car, it was a perfect base for exploring Perugia, Assisi, and the Umbria region. Host Michele was welcoming and always available with local tour advice or help with anything we needed. He also makes a great red wine from grapes grown on the property’s vineyard. We’re looking forward to coming back, especially to see the nearly completed renovations to the historic castle, which will add more accommodation with fantastic views.

We had a delightful time. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and hospitable, and the location and weather were perfect. It’s a great place to get away from busy city life, read beneath the olive trees, relax by the well groomed pool, and spend time with the domestic animals. I’d definitely recommend Podere Caldaruccio for a homey stay with a big group. Thank you for your service. 🙏

We had an excellent truffle mushroom hunting experience with a dog. This is an agricultural farm that makes its own wine and olive oil. Mikaela guided us brilliantly, taking us to the fabric house to see the oil being made. We also had a light meal made with products from the farm.
