Hotel Priori Secret Garden

We stayed at Hotel Priori, Secret Garden from 12th-17th May 2026 for a wedding. The boutique style is modern and looks lovely against the surrounding medieval buildings. It's close to the cathedral and Perugia's central hub, though it can be hard to find if you don't know the area. We took a bus from the airport and walked from the station. Perugia is very hilly, but covered escalators start facing the bus station and take you up near the main town center. From there, we got a stunning view and an easy enough walk through the center to the hotel. Wear good walking shoes. The booking problem at check-in was stressful. I'd first booked 13th-15th, then asked to extend, and the change was confirmed by email and paid in full. But when we arrived, staff said day 2 was missing and we'd have to check out for a day. We were tired and hot and just wanted our rooms, and I'd paid a small fortune. I couldn't understand how this happened when that day was part of our original booking. The staff were polite, and after a third staff member got involved, it was sorted. They confirmed we'd booked every day we needed and showed us to our room.

That shower door may be worth asking about if you're larger bodied. Ours opened at a corner, and I was just able to fit through. I was later told the design isn't the same in every room, though it's not unusual in Italy. The hotel itself and Perugia made for an excellent stay, and we hope to come back. The location and service were fantastic, with professional, friendly staff who were very helpful. We loved the colorful modern decor, and breakfast had quality products and tasty cakes. One small thing bothered my partner: there was a desk note saying guests could add a discretionary tip for all the staff. The staff deserve praise, but my partner felt the hotel's price should already cover fair pay for such good service.

Sarah was a lifesaver when the airline lost our luggage. She spent hours helping us get it back in time for a wedding, and the staff were consistently wonderful throughout our seven nights. I can't say enough good things about them. The location is perfect, just off the main drag, so sights are within walking distance and you avoid its late night noise. Housekeeping was thorough and accommodating, and breakfast was excellent. We miss it! A wonderful experience, would recommend 10/10.
