Alexander Museum Palace Hotel

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we had a great view. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Still, the hotel is nothing like the photos online and badly needs refurbishment. Four boxes of materials had been dumped in our room, and it looked as though the art had fallen off the walls. The shower had a makeshift repair with silicone all over it. Paint was peeling from the wooden outdoor seating and stuck to your body, while the seats and cushions were badly cracked and ripped. In its current state, I’d call this a 2-star hotel, definitely not 4 stars.

Our superior room was at the front with a good beach view, the only good thing about it. The hotel is at the far end of the beach, away from the city center. The room was quite old and not very clean, and the bathroom was small. The walls are so thin that noise from other guests on the same floor can wake you at night. The bed and pillows were poor quality, and the dated furniture wasn’t clean either. Some doors and drawers jammed. They put two small bottles of water in the fridge without mentioning they cost extra, then charged us 2.5 EUR per bottle at checkout.

Not bad at all, though dinner is served a little too late.

The service and location are great, but the rooms aren’t. The furniture is very old, and my king bed was actually two mattresses that kept separating all night.
