Flying

The balcony was the highlight of our two rooms, one for four and one for three, and the setup suited our family. The rooms were small and a bit dated, as you'd expect in an older property, and the big bed wasn't especially comfortable for two adults. We were tired enough to sleep anyway. Manuela at the front desk was fantastic, always smiling, friendly, and ready with suggestions or help. Breakfast was included, with yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fruit, and baked goods. Across the street, the private beach lets hotel guests reserve chairs and umbrellas. The sand is incredibly soft, and the reefs make the water shallow but still fun for families to swim in. We had a great, affordable getaway and will be back. We have five kids, from a 10-year-old to three teens and a preteen, and usually don't travel spontaneously, especially in Italy in August. But our son was turning 15 and wanted to visit the beach with a friend who was visiting us from the US. We had friends who knew the busier beaches at Fano and Rimini, but we'd never heard of Pesaro. I hesitated over Hotel Flying, comparing other properties and beaches and poring over reviews before booking. A beachfront place with sea views, a private terrace, and free breakfast for under $200 a night sounded almost too good to be true.

We had a good stay. The room had comfortable beds, a good shower, and air conditioning that cooled it quickly. Breakfast was generous and very good. The receptionist was a really nice guy, and the beach is just across the road.

You can hear the waves in the morning if you want, while the soundproof windows and doors keep outside noise from disturbing you at other times. The view is one of the best I've had, and the room was clean and cosy, with air conditioning. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Such a beautiful hotel, with everything better than average and a lovely Italian summer holiday feel. Thanks for everything!

We couldn't get a full night's sleep because of loud music from the open air bar all night. Babies were crying, and the mothers on our floor were upset by the noise too. The hotel offered to move us when we complained, but with only 22 rooms and the bar literally on the corner, we didn't think another room would solve it, and the music would wake the babies anyway. We couldn't bear another night, so we left and stayed elsewhere. They wouldn't consider refunding the unused night, and we lost that money. The bed was poor quality and the bathroom old and dated. The property felt as cheap as a college hostel, and the stay ruined our trip.
