Hotel Esplanade

We spent a week here, and it was close to perfect. The hotel is old and a little worn, but that gives it real charm. The staff were always smiling and helpful, the rooms super clean, and when the elevator stopped working one day, it was fixed very quickly. Breakfast on the rooftop was really good, with lots of choice, and the view is spectacular. It’s a shame the restaurant apparently only serves food in the morning and has no evening service. The view must be even better at night with the beach lights. If they arranged evening service at some point, I’d give this hotel 100 stars. Even so, it’s an outstanding place to stay in Pescara, so close to the beach. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return. Thank you all for making it such a wonderful stay.

I liked the stay overall, especially the housekeeping team. They were helpful and did a really thorough job. The breakfast staff were kind too, though the food itself was only decent, and could have been fresher and more varied. Reception was fine. The room was small and dated for a four-star place, but having a balcony was nice. I'd put the stay at about 8 out of 10, or 3.5 stars out of 5.

The breakfast was a real highlight, especially the mother and daughter running the bar. For 10€ it was a great deal, and the food overall was very good. The public beach nearby is lovely, and the hotel sits right across the street from the Adriatic Sea. Shops and other amenities are close, as is a walking trail.

The terrace is what sticks with me most. I enjoyed sitting out there with a book during breakfast, chatting with the exceptionally friendly waiters and waitresses. The hotel was quiet, the interior was fine, and daily cleaning was excellent without leaving a chemical smell. The air conditioning was also a plus: it worked more like ventilation, so there wasn't that usual blast of cold air, and I could adjust the temperature or switch it off. My room did have a broken shower, though, and even a quick wash left water everywhere. I reported it, so I'm sure they'll sort it out.
