G Hotel Pescara

The staff were very nice, and the hotel was clean without being expensive. Breakfast didn’t have a huge menu, but there were different kinds of bread and fruit, plus drinks. The cappuccino was especially good.

The location right beside the train station is convenient, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast buffet is good, with plenty of gluten-free packaged items. Beyond reception, though, the hotel looks dated and needs updating. There were marks on the walls, and the hallway carpets were worn and stained. The room sofas were worn too, and I found stains on the towels. The sheets were white, but the mattress cover and mattress had lots of stains. Some small brown spots made me worry about bed bugs, although I saw no other evidence. In a busy hotel, mattresses really need high-quality protectors that guard against bugs and allergens. The place looks okay at first, but it needs updates and better sanitary practices.

It’s easy to reach both the city center and the beach from this hotel, which sits right by the main train station and bus terminal. The staff were very nice and helpful, no complaints about them. Our ground-floor accessible room had just one tiny window that barely opened. With it open, traffic noise would keep you awake. The air conditioning couldn’t cool the room enough, and it was uncomfortably warm, with nothing they could do about it. There was no tea or coffee making setup, which feels odd in Italy, and having to rent a kettle from reception was really annoying. No bathrobes either. The AC and lack of coffee facilities seem to be recurring issues with this hotel group. I probably won’t return.

The hotel was cozy and modern, and the room and bathroom were very nice. I slept well in the comfortable bed. Even though it’s close to the train and bus stations, it was quiet inside. There’s also a large parking area on the premises. From here, it’s easy to walk downtown to restaurants or head to the beach, and the stay offers great value for travelers.
