Update of 1/11/2025 We went back three months ago, after the property had changed hands and was now owned by LH. The restaurant staff were very friendly, but the tables were dirty. Luckily, the garden outside still has the same charm. At reception, though, the person was quite abrupt and didn't come across as friendly. Maybe he should consider work that doesn't involve dealing with clients if he isn't willing to treat people calmly and kindly. What a shame compared with the old managers, who were so welcoming and nice. The new owners claim it's the same property as before to attract clients, but the place is very different. Before that change, I'd loved the garden, where you could sunbathe or read a book among the Appennini mountains, and the friendly, welcoming staff. The hotel was about a 10-minute walk from Peacasseroli town center. The rooms were nice, though sometimes small for the number of people staying there. The food was excellent and portions were good, especially the best ricotta ever! In summer, you could also take a horse-drawn buggy into town. Prices were fair for such a lovely place. I also recommend the mountain walks run by Ecotour, the local organization promoting Abbruzzo and National Park. I did them all!

We came back for a second family weekend, years after our first visit, and the things that bothered us before still hadn't improved. With the high price, I can't see it as a four-star hotel in either service or food. The ground-floor double rooms are very roomy but extremely hot. We ate in the restaurant on two nights. The first dinner was satisfying, with simple but tasty dishes: lasagna, amatriciana, roast meats, and a delicious stew. The next evening was awful. Pasta with fish had no flavor, pasta with cream was poor, sausage and mushrooms were decent, the fish was decent, and the chicken breast with mushrooms was inedible. The wait staff were extremely kind, the one bright spot in the restaurant. Both nights a DJ played so loudly in the dining room that it was hard to talk. The entrance area was pleasant, but the basement spaces felt completely abandoned. The children's room needs better care; beyond the foosball and ping pong tables, everything looked neglected and unwelcoming. The bar area also felt bare and uninviting. With so many guests, it could use more room and someone dedicated to cocktails and bar service. The place has a lot of potential, but it's not being managed well.
