Camping la Gemma

What made the stay special was the people. The family working at the campsite were so kind and helpful that we felt at home. A big thank you to everyone, and especially to Nunzia, a warmhearted person and fantastic cook who felt like everyone's mother. Mario at the beach is another truly special person, and the campsite is peaceful, with a beautiful pool and close to all the places to visit. Cristian and Giulia kept us entertained, and Antonio's pizza was fantastic, a classic Neapolitan pizza that deserves a 10. Thank you all for your hospitality!

We picked this campsite for its location, which made it easy to explore several pretty coves nearby, and the price was affordable compared with other campsites. We arrived without a booking for three nights, and the receptionist kindly let us choose our own pitch. It was quiet and shady, just right for a relaxing break, with a very nice pool. Strong winds kept us off the beach for long, so we spent a couple of afternoons there instead. We didn't have lunch or dinner at the bar, but the cappuccino and coffee were very good, as were the homemade pastries. It has what you need for a great holiday if you're after a quiet campsite rather than a resort. We had a great stay.

The mobile homes were tiny and dirty, and the dishes and cookware were filthy and badly maintained. We were lucky to get out in time. The welcome was nonexistent. We lost our deposit, but that was better than staying and having the worst holiday. Even after we spoke to the owner, he chose to let us leave instead of apologizing or finding a compromise. The basics matter, and this was a nightmare campsite. I can't give it zero only because that's not an option.

The infinity pool was the highlight, and there was plenty to do around it. The bar had billiards, ping pong, and table football, with excellent cocktails from the young couple running it. Entertainment happened there every day, with prizes for children and adults. On August 15th, the campsite's pony, little Fiamma, delivered prosecco and local liqueurs to the campers. My girlfriend and I stayed in a tent from August 10th to 16th. It's a family-run site with spacious shaded pitches for tents and campers, and you can choose your own. The beach is about 400 metres away, either on foot or by the campsite's tourist train, and you can drive to the main sights. Facilities include bathrooms with showers, laundry sinks, and sinks for cutlery. The market sells homemade local food, including excellent Nutella doughnuts for breakfast and handmade fried panzerotti for lunch and dinner, highly recommended. There’s also a pizzeria and restaurant serving local dishes. The pizza was good, and the spaghetti with clams was excellent. Many thanks to all the staff. See you soon!
