Morcavallo Hotel & Wellness

The smell was hard to ignore throughout this place. Both rooms smelled strongly of cigarettes, the bed covers had several cigarette burns, and mildew and damp were noticeable in the lobby. The rooms felt dated, the TV was about the size of my iPad, and the supposed queen bed was two small singles pushed together. The lift also kept opening onto the wrong doors on the way down, making us walk through the kitchen. The hallway lights only came on after we'd walked halfway down it. Check-in was an awful experience. There seemed to be only one person working in the whole hotel, an older man who looked confused and didn't seem like staff. He gave us a very poor welcome and communicated badly, even though I speak perfect Italian. There was no help with bags, and the reception and front desk lights were all off. The restaurant area looked closed, with chairs on tables and tarps over the banquet area. The furniture looked like worn-out early 1990s design. I've traveled all over and stayed in all kinds of places, but this was the worst hotel check-in and service experience I've had. Don't book here, it doesn't look like the pictures.

We got a nice beach view, and the room was clean and pleasant. It was very early in the season, so the room was inexpensive and the swimming pool wasn't ready yet. Breakfast was good, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and the private parking was perfect for the car.

Just 50 metres from a beautiful beach, and the staff and location were great. The rooms aren't in perfect shape, but they're still alright.

The staff were great, and so were the location and room. We also had a good experience with the food.
