Villaggio Bellariva

We came in mid-May, when there was plenty of room and the beach wasn’t crowded. The team works hard to keep both the campsite and beach tidy, and our kids had a good time. The food was delicious, with quick, friendly service. Our shower didn’t always have hot water, but otherwise we’d definitely return.

We’d come back. The site is right on the beach, and at €22 a night it’s hard to beat the location. Peschici is a beautiful old town with winding streets, about a 10-15 minute climb up steps from the campsite. It can be a tough walk if you’re not in good health. Reception was helpful, and Pino seemed to take care of everything. The pitches are decent, and showers cost €0.50. The restaurant has a lovely setting when it isn’t windy, but the food and prices were both very average. There’s no toilet paper or soap, and we eventually got used to that, as we did the paid showers.

There’s a pleasant breeze on warm days, and you can buy the campsite’s own wine and oil. The beach is 700 metres downhill, through a vineyard and then a green area. It’s pebbly and not great for children, but felt very romantic for us without kids.

Peschici is worth seeing, though getting there means climbing quite a few stairs. The campsite itself is fairly unremarkable, but the staff were very friendly and the restaurant was nice. Pitch sizes vary, with many of them long but narrow. It’s right by the beach, and we liked our stay apart from the loud evening entertainment coming from a neighbouring hotel.
