The woman at the front desk was kind and friendly, and she's the reason I gave even one star. The facility was quite embarrassing: poor cleanliness, old fixtures, and it badly needs renovations. The bathroom smelled nauseating, the towels were smelly, and the value for money was terrible. At most, this is a one-star hotel. The price was the biggest disappointment, especially in low season, because it was far too high for the service. It was really dirty, with hair in the bathroom, a broken towel handle, and mold on the shower handle. A thorough cleaning review is essential.

The hotel has just reopened under new management, and the warm welcome and varied, generous breakfast made a great impression. It deserves its full five stars. The beaches are only a three-minute walk away, too. I'll definitely return.

You can see the sea from this hotel, and the location is great. It’s comfortable and has everything you need. The staff are consistently warm and helpful, and they’re happy to handle requests. A good fit for families, younger guests, and older travelers. I’d happily recommend it and come back.

The breakfast was fine, with machine coffee, juice, a few plain croissants and toast. You can add jam or Nutella, though it’s served to you, so the server chooses the portions. The owner is kind and available, but doesn’t seem to be around much, and neither does the small staff of five or six people. The best thing here is the spot on Via Aurelia. It’s easy to reach by car or bus, and the bus stops outside. Shops, bars, a bakery and beach access are nearby, and the sea view is one of the nicest around. The price is reasonable compared with other places, but there are compromises. I’d stay again. The rooms are small, and cleanliness can be hit or miss, which stands out in a hotel with only 12 rooms. The shower itself isn’t tiny, but the curtain makes it awkward to use. It looks like renovations may be underway, so we’ll see. Three stars feels generous to me, maybe two and a half would be enough.

There’s little to do in Cavi besides the sea, even in August. We slept in rooms at the former Cavi Hotel, which we knew from before Piccolo Hotel acquired it, and went to the small hotel for meals. The buildings are dated and badly maintained, with hardly any upkeep. Teams of workers were regular guests and made noise at all hours overnight. On weekends they weren’t working, so there was loud disco music, shouting, arguments and doors slamming, with nobody stepping in. The managers’ explanation was that the workers were always working, but that weekends were just like that. There’s no night reception, either. The doors feel like paper, and cleanliness, order and organization all need serious attention. I can’t understand how managers like this keep going. Their response to my review only backs up what I said. Spending little is one thing, but ending up in unacceptable situations and feeling unsafe is another. You’re ridiculous. Shame on you!
