Residence Valle Clavia

The beach service, including morning entertainment, was part of our stay, and there was also parking, a children’s play area, and an outdoor shower with a washing machine for guests. We spent a week in August at Residence Valle Clavia with our family and had a very positive experience. The apartment was clean, had a new kitchen, and was supplied with what we needed. It even had Sky TV, plus a panoramic terrace looking over the sea and Peschici. The location is excellent, about 50 meters from the sea, with a minimarket across the street and a nightclub, bars, and restaurants nearby. The receptionist was kind and helpful, and the owner was easy to reach and quick to reply on WhatsApp. I’ll gladly return. Thank you.

The grounds are a little earthly paradise, with old trees and so much greenery and vegetation around the property. Our beach service was impeccable, and at 11:30 am they brought around tastings to spoil us even more. The food was excellent, both in how the dishes looked and in taste. Nothing disappointed us. Last year we came as a group of 14, and nobody had a complaint. The chefs, waiters, and entertainment team were all wonderful, as always, and really made us feel on holiday. We’re a couple from Rome and have been back to the residence for two years. Returning to Rome on Saturday 6 September was hard. I’m very selective about places I stay, and this is the best one for me. The organization is serious, the whole team is respectful, and the cleanliness and attention to little details are excellent. I highly recommend trying it. We’ll be back next summer, and I can’t wait. It was such a pleasure and a stroke of luck to meet everyone. Thanks for everything, and for the chili peppers the manager gave me. We’ll be back soon. ❤️

The price is competitive, the beach is close, and the umbrella and loungers are included. There’s also a nearby minimarket with normal prices. Beyond those positives, we found the apartment barely habitable. The kitchen had almost nothing: three glasses, four forks, four plates, one moldy coffee maker, and very few other dishes. The main bedroom was so cramped that there wasn’t room for two bedside tables, and you had to turn sideways and squeeze past to get to one side of the bed. The shutters were broken, and the window faced the path used to reach the other apartments, so there was no privacy. The bathroom was so long and narrow that bending over the sink meant standing sideways to avoid hitting my head on the mirror shelf. Hot water was gone by 8:30 PM. The stairs to the terrace start right in front of the tiny patio and pass the kitchen window, with kids coming and going unsupervised, sometimes even by their parents. Two or three nearby resorts have entertainment late into the night, and the beach music from 10:00 to 12:00 in the morning was excessively loud, so it wasn’t a relaxing stay. Some residents were also rude, partying until 2-3 in the morning. If people won’t respect others, management should set rules. I know negative reviews need to be justified and documented, so see the photos. At first glance the residence looks nice, with apartments lined up close to the beach, but opening the door brought a string of unpleasant surprises.

The only consistently good part was the lady in charge, who was kind and helpful. My parents had visited in June and chosen an accommodation, but when we arrived, we were given a different one. They had been told their choice would be renovated, while ours was old, moldy, and practically unlivable. The owner was rude and offered several explanations: first that the one my parents chose was closed, then that workers were staying there, which wasn’t true since we saw a family, and finally that she had made the switch with good intentions. She didn’t appear again during the following days, presumably because other residents had complaints too. The lady in charge passed on an apology and a €100 refund, but that didn’t make up for the trouble during the week. The apartment had a strong musty smell and leaks, no shelves or places to put our things, old furniture, and crumbling plaster, despite the owner having told my parents she’d renovate everything. We were also promised a second-row umbrella but got one in the third row. The structure overlooking the children’s playground and other apartments is covered in asbestos, which is a health hazard.
