Belstay Milano Linate

Getting to the airport and city center was easy from here. The rooms, and the hotel generally, show a lot of wear, and a few things in my room were broken. Housekeeping left some rubbish from the previous guest. Breakfast was average, and the lack of good coffee was really annoying.

The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was a good size, and the room was clean apart from the walls. It’s close to the airport, but food isn’t easy to find, so I’d suggest ordering through a delivery app. We stayed in October and there was no AC, so the room got hot and stuffy. You can open the windows, but there are no screens and bugs get in. The shuttle took ages: the front desk said 3:10 PM, but it didn’t arrive until 3:45. A taxi costs only €5 more and would be the better choice.

The location is perfect and the prices are very cheap, but the service is just horrible. I can hardly put into words how bad it was. Maybe they’ve just got tired of too many tourists. Every day the cleaning lady woke us by banging on the door like she was about to break it, even though we put up the “don't disturb” sign. She didn’t care. On the night shift, there’s an Indian guy at reception who makes the hotel’s reputation even worse.

Breakfast was very limited and the coffee was terrible. The first floor still hasn’t been renovated, and the bathroom light kept flickering, so the room felt neglected. Belstay Linate badly needs an update and doesn’t feel up to four-star standards. I stayed for one night and was disappointed with the experience. Had it been any longer, I would’ve checked out and gone elsewhere. Not worth the price.
