C House Rooms Lake

The room had a lovely view of the water, a little balcony that was perfect for sharing a drink, and handy kitchen facilities. The bath was a nice extra too. We stayed one night over a weekend before Christmas, and it was truly beautiful. Staff were always quick to respond and very helpful on WhatsApp. Unfortunately, other guests were speaking loudly and had their TV up late, so we could hear them from our room. That was just bad luck with who happened to be staying at the same time. We’d happily come back.

The house itself is beautiful, with high quality, even exclusive, materials and furnishings, which makes its poor condition especially sad. In the bathroom, there was hair in the drain, mold around the shower, and heavy limescale on the shower door frames. The cafe restroom was even dirtier, so I chose to use the one in our room. I can't believe the staff hadn't noticed it. The heating was hard to control because the thermostat seemed faulty. It was either fully on or off, and the mattress sagged so much that after three days I had severe back pain. The advertised free parking, supposedly a five minute walk away, wasn't there. Getting into the room was a whole ordeal. Even though I'd registered with the property and booking.com, I had to register again to get the access codes, and there were four of them. Without all of those, I couldn't get into the room. It felt like something from Takahashi's Castle. We went to C House Cafe every evening, but I needed the restroom only once, and that was enough. The location is hard to beat, and the building has real potential. I wrote to the team about these problems and got no reply. After the indifference, I would at least have expected some kind of response.

The room was spacious, bright and nicely furnished, and the property is in a lovely spot right in central Peschiera. It has a lot going for it, but the upkeep needs more attention. Over three days, neither the room nor bathroom was cleaned, and there was nobody to ask about fresh towels. The hand shower didn't work, just the overhead one, and the sink faucet sprayed water. The automatic closet lights sometimes stayed on. I understand reception is automated, but with a little more care and maintenance this place could live up to its potential.
