Hotel Dolci Colli

The manager’s response was dismissive, and nothing was done to resolve the problem. When I reported it, he told me not to open the window, but we hadn’t opened it. We were on the second floor, and crickets can’t fly, so it seemed clear they were already in the room. They chirped loudly all night, and we couldn’t sleep at all. There was also a strong sewer smell in both the lobby and our room, making the stay very uncomfortable. We had to leave early and definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

The pool was very nice and clean, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Our room was dirty: dust everywhere, a grimy tap, hair in the shower, and an obvious difference between the parts that had and hadn’t been vacuumed. The extra pillows in the shelf had clearly been used. Their covers were stained with what looked like blood and smelled bad, but staff left them there. When I told the receptionist and cleaner, they said those pillows were extras and didn’t need to be clean. After I asked twice, they changed the covers without apologizing. I’ve never had this kind of treatment at a hotel. Breakfast was poor when we came at 9:30 one morning: no scrambled eggs, one hard piece of bread, and little else left. It was much better when we came earlier the next day, but still didn’t match what the website was promoting. The hotel is on a very busy, noisy road, so leaving the window open at night was impossible. The AC was noisy too. Our superior room was tiny, with a tiny balcony, no daylight, and an uncomfortable bed. The design throughout the hotel felt cheap and rushed.

At the edge of town, this place was peaceful and had a gorgeous view of the vineyards. It’s a five-minute drive from the center. The staff were very friendly and gave us great restaurant recommendations in the city. Breakfast was generous, the coffee delicious, and the pastries changed every day.

We could reach lots of places within a few minutes by car, and the staff were great, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were clean. Most days we had the barely crowded pool area to ourselves, which was relaxing, and you can order drinks right to the pool. Breakfast was simple but had everything you need. Great place, highly recommend!
