Piano di Sorrento felt like a lovely, quiet break from the bustle of the bigger city, and it was about 15 minutes by bus from Sorrento. Villa Maresca was a wonderful place for our family to stay. Frederica and Antonino were so caring and welcoming, and breakfast was a treat, with Southern Italian home cooking made from fresh local eggs and produce from their small farm. I’m sharing a few photos I took around the property to give a sense of the place. I highly recommend this B&B, you won’t be disappointed.

The room was clean and nice, with a beautiful sea view, and it was very close to the bus station and town center. Federica was a friendly, helpful host. Breakfast leaned too heavily toward sweet choices for me. Since we were in Italy, I’d expected some mozzarella, prosciutto, and olives.

The peaceful, more local feel of this part of the Sorrento coast was a big plus for us. It felt much less crowded than Sorrento, though you do need a public bus, about 15 minutes, to get there. Plan day trips or a rental car ahead if you want to explore the area easily. We stayed four nights and five days in two rooms, my husband, both my parents, and me, during a ten-day trip to Italy. Choosing Villa Maresca may have been the best decision of that whole trip. Antonino and Frederica were helpful well before we arrived. They helped arrange several boat tours, private transfers, and rental cars, and shared restaurant tips and ideas for things to do. Their warm, family-like hospitality made the place feel like someone's home, in a rustic setting. Breakfast was a feast each morning, with garden ingredients and scrambled eggs from their chickens. My whole family felt our stay made the Sorrento and Amalfi coast trip more memorable. If you want a true sense of the Italian coast and welcoming hosts, this place is for you. If you want a commercial hotel or tourist trap, it may not be. I’d absolutely stay again. Thanks for taking care of us.

The gardens were full of flowers when we visited in June, and the whole place looked and smelled amazing. The property has a lemon grove and orange trees, too. Federica made our honeymoon feel extra special with a lovely breakfast one morning at a beautiful table under the lemon trees. She’s probably the nicest person in the world, always happy to help, and speaks impressive English and German. She also knows the area well and gladly shares her advice. Her breakfasts were incredible. Our room was comfortable and a decent size, and the few minutes’ walk into central Piano made buses and trains easy to reach. This glowing review still doesn’t capture how wonderful Villa Maresca is. We’d be back in a flash.

Breakfast in the garden was a real treat, with a good range and quality of food. The hosts were welcoming and especially Federica was helpful, offering recommendations and sorting out parking. They also arranged a boat to Capri for us, including a custom trip so we could spend a night on the island and return the next day. They let us leave our luggage while we were away. The family villa was just as the pictures suggested, and a great choice for our peninsula vacation. Our room was spacious and clean, with large closets and nice furnishings and design. There was a large shared front porch with a table and seats, plus a cute little rare balcony with a sunbed. It’s a great base for exploring the area and good value for money. We had a very good vacation here.
