Sopramare Resort

We spent one night here for my partner's birthday on the Sorrento Coast, and she absolutely loved it. The natural surroundings were stunning, our room was tidy and spotless, and the customer service was excellent. The staff arranged a rose and welcome drink in the room, a really thoughtful way to mark the occasion. I would have liked a mirror in the room, since the only one was a small bathroom mirror. Breakfast could have been a bit richer too. I expected a full English breakfast given the clientele, though maybe the limited selection was because it was the low summer season. A fabulous place for a few days, and one I'd recommend.

We spent hours at night looking over the cliff at Sorrento's lights, and the pool was great. Our Smart Room was just the right size for two, very clean, with a super comfortable bed and a spacious shower with great water pressure. Both the train and bus stops are an easy walk away. The staff noticed from my husband's passport that he had a birthday during our stay, then surprised him at resort breakfast with a chocolate pastry and candle. Such a thoughtful touch. We'll definitely come back.

Breakfast and the food were fresh, delicious, and absolutely amazing. The staff were extremely friendly and always helpful. Everything stayed clean, the rooms were in great shape, and the pool was really cool. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return!

The bed was awful, with springs poking through the mattress, and I couldn't rest. I asked for an upgrade right away and was willing to pay more, but none were available. The room was so cramped we could barely move, and insects were everywhere with staff making no effort to deal with them. Housekeeping was practically absent: the tiny bathroom sink was never wiped, and toothpaste marks stayed there from the first day until checkout. The toilet was filthy and breakfast was the worst I've ever had. Every morning the toaster broke, and staff spent 20 minutes fiddling with it while guests waited for toast. They only brought out a new one on the last day. The choices were very limited and disappointing. Staff were consistently rude, and the facilities were appalling. I have never written a review before, but after my stay at Sopramare Resort in Sorrento I feel I have to. From the moment I arrived I was disgusted. The so-called “standard room” was basically a hut or garden shed, completely misleading compared with the Expedia listing. I complained to Expedia and got part of my money back. I've never been so glad to check out. It was by far my worst accommodation experience, and I'd strongly advise people to avoid Sopramare Resort. I have no clue how this place is classed as a resort or got 4 stars.
