Hotel Al Ritrovo

The breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of fresh cakes and fruit, and very good coffee. The hotel is just outside town, with a restaurant next door. The lady manager made sure we were looked after, and when our taxi didn’t show, staff drove us to our venue. Many thanks to everyone.

Finally, a really good night’s sleep. The memory foam mattress was so comfortable and fit around me perfectly. Breakfast was the best, with homemade cakes, croissants, and other pastries baked by Sabrina, who also served us cappuccinos and manages the front desk. And they had a proper espresso machine, not an automated one.

Room 104 was bright, clean, and comfortable, with a nice eye for detail. We stayed for one night after visiting Piazza Armerina and the Villa del Casale. The hotel is just outside town, only a few minutes by car from the center, and parking was easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was February, with outdoor temperatures between 4 and 15, but the room was heated perfectly. Breakfast was delicious, with a range of continental options, fresh flaky croissants, and Sicilian pastries. A friendly staff member served our cappuccinos, and there were oat, soy, almond, and cow’s milk to choose from.

Sadly, it wasn’t a good experience. The staff didn’t pay attention to what we told them, and later some servers were working without uniforms. They chatted among themselves as if nobody else was in the restaurant. The food was disappointing too. I ordered a 300g Angus chop, but more than half was fat, and the grilled vegetable side wasn’t right. I wouldn’t go back.
