The owner, Salvatore, is a real gentleman and made sure everything was just right. Breakfast was grand, too. The rooms are modern and beautifully decorated, and the pool and gardens are lovely, with donkeys, sheep, goats, and two well-trained border collies with puppies. A true gem just outside Piazza Armerina, in beautiful surroundings. We’ll surely come again!

We only stayed a short time, but it felt special. It’s peaceful, and the place is thoughtfully decorated. Salvatore is an incredible person, and you can see how much passion he’s put into this project. Recommended. If you’re nearby, don’t miss villa romana del casale. Grazie Salvatore, it was a pleasure meeting you. Best wishes.

There’s a lovely outdoor setting for breakfast in summer, plus a shared kitchen guests can use if they need it. The place has five rooms and sleeps around 20 people. You’ll also find a pool, a messy play area for kids, some farm animals, and loads of peace and quiet. Salvo, the wonderful owner, is happy to take time to tell the stories behind the art and furnishings, both inside and outside. The refurbished old site still feels raw and natural, but has all the necessities and comforts, with lots of fun pieces around. It’s a serene spot for a rest, family time, or a stop between places. Piazza Armerina’s center is about five minutes away by car. Ask Salvo, though, and you might go to the village center and shop with the donkey!

The pool is huge, and the two border collies are so sweet. Toss a soccer ball around and you’ll make a furry friend. The restored farmhouse is quiet, secluded, and safe, with modern, very clean rooms and a delicious breakfast included. I was on my way to Agregiento and stopped in Piazza Armerino. The boss was kind and accommodating, and quickly sorted out a technical problem for me with a smile.

The stars here are Luna and Fiamma, the two donkeys, and guests can take rides around the area. We had a spacious, comfortable room with a small balcony facing the countryside, and breakfast was plentiful. The old farmhouse has been carefully restored, a few kilometers from the center and surrounded by Sicilian countryside. Its owner, Salvatore, gave us a warm welcome, and the place has plenty of charm. The room was modern and had all the comforts, and cleanliness was impeccable. Breakfast featured tasty local products. We came across Quercia e l'asino by chance after seeing the photos. We’d only planned to use it as a quick base for Villa del Casale and nearby Piazza Armerina before continuing around Sicily, but the place’s originality made for a very pleasant surprise. The distinctive decor was put together by an artist friend of Salvatore, whose name I can’t remember, using family and traditional objects. It’s ideal for people who want to be close to nature, but also a good alternative to ordinary hotels or guesthouses if you’re exploring nearby monuments or want to relax.
