Abbazia Sette Frati Agriturismo Fratres

Annalisa's cooking was a real highlight, especially the custom pistachio birthday cake she made for our first dinner. Sara, Gregorio, and Annalisa were warm and welcoming throughout, and their different strengths made the stay feel special. We came as two families, one group of five and one of four, and the restored old abbey exceeded what we expected. The setting is beautiful, with spacious accommodation in a historic Italian agriturismo. It's also within an hour's drive, or less, of Perugia, Spello, Spoleto, Assisi, Orvieto, and Terni. Grazie mille, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We stayed in an apartment as a family. The website makes it look rustic, but inside it has modern facilities and more. The cooking utensils were among the best equipped and maintained we've found in self-catering places, where they're often worn out. I can see why this place gets five-star reviews. The abbey and gardens are stunning, and Sara showed us around, shared some history, and made us feel welcome right away. It's such a peaceful, quiet place, good for meditating and getting creative. Give yourself time to take it all in, because you won't want to leave. We'll definitely put it on our list to visit again on our next trip to Italy.

We first stayed at the Abbazia (abbey) five years ago and fell in love with it. Sara and her family made us feel so at home that we chose it for our wedding reception. Since then, we've returned almost every year. The abbey rooms are comfortable, and the family also sells homemade saffron, olive oil, zucca lamps, and other things that make lovely gifts. I can't recommend it enough if you're after a real Italian experience in peaceful, beautiful Umbria.
