The apartments are all roomy and practical, with kitchens and all the appliances you need. We got to look around each one, and they’d all been renovated this year. It’s a lovely option for couples or families with kids, though you’ll need a car. Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, and Bagno Vignoni are only 15-25 minutes away. The hosts are lovely, and the property sits high on a hill with wide views over Val d’Orcia. The sunset makes the rolling countryside especially beautiful, and one morning the hills were covered in fog, which was lovely to see too.

We spent three weeks here with four families, renting the apartments, and loved every bit of it. The owner and the property manager, who comes each day to look after the garden and pool, are super friendly and take great care of everything. It’s a great spot for a family or group holiday. The views are the best you can get in Tuscany. The pool area was newly done in 2020. The pool is small but perfect for the kids, with a depth of about 1m. There’s also a play area and a shared kitchen, though each apartment has its own. You’ll find a pizza oven, barbecue facilities, and what you need for a longer stay, including a dishwasher, enough soap and amenities, and a washing machine. The chickens provide fresh eggs, and the garden has tomatoes, strawberries, unions, zuchini, and cucumber. It’s a great area for biking. Pavel has a shed full of e-bikes and regular bikes, so you can get some exercise to help balance out all the good food. Supermarkets are a bit far, in Montepulciano, chainciano terme, or pienze, but the drive is enjoyable every time. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive away. A ride up to the Amiata is worthwhile, about 30KM, as are visits to Pienza and Montepulciano. We also drove to the Grosseto beach from Chiancianello, Montalcino, the Trasimeno lake, Siena, and Seggiano. I’d recommend this place to anyone, anytime.

The views feel like they belong on postcards, and the wine is great. This place has a real homey feel, with some of the most caring hosts we’ve met. It’s one of the most relaxing and welcoming stays in Tuscany, and I’d say spend at least a week here and visit the nearby Tuscan cities 😉
