Borgo Di Cortolla

Gianluca was kind and booked us a table at the restaurant. It was Sunday and the day of a football final, so it was expected to be busy. Our apartment was clean and tidy, with a double bedroom, another room with two single beds, a bathroom, and a small sitting room with a full kitchen. Breakfast was disappointing. Gianluca let us choose between a kit and eating at a restaurant or bar. We chose the bar, where there were only four croissants for the three of us, a piece of crostata, coffee or cappuccino, and water. Nothing else. Maybe the kit would have been better. We also felt the place doesn't fit the idea of an "agriturismo". We weren't looking for that, but we'd expect one to let visitors learn directly about farming and livestock work, and connect more with how food is produced.

The owners were very helpful, driving us to the center of Pietralunga twice. There were eleven of us staying here during the Camino de San Francesco, and we were warmly welcomed. The rooms were clean and heated, and it was a truly beautiful place to stay.

The apartment felt like staying in an old castle and was great. I was walking the Franziskusweg, and the accommodation is almost directly on the route. My hosts were so nice that they drove me into town several times, since they said walking there in the dark was too dangerous and wouldn't let me go on foot. Thanks for a really good night's stay. I can recommend it without hesitation.

The apartment was spacious and well looked after, and the pool was lovely and spotless. The location is beautiful. You'll need a car to get to town, where there are some restaurants at reasonable prices. Ask the owners for tips on sightseeing, food and wine.
