Camping Valmalene

There are lots of hiking and MTB trails nearby, and the campsite’s restaurant serves delicious food at decent prices. The toilets are quite old but clean. The site is tucked into the forest high in the mountains, which gives good shelter from summer heat. A great location.

The campsite has a lovely family atmosphere, and the owners are very friendly. It’s a gem in Italy, with a good restaurant, bar, and shop, but it never felt like mass camping. You can choose the large open field by the river instead of a classic pitch. The toilets were decent and the hot showers reliable. The pool was lovely, though it opened rather late and closed early, so as mountain walkers we found it hard to get a swim in. They also require head caps, which seemed odd and unnecessary to us for an outdoor pool that already had a lot of chlorine. Recommended.

A lovely mountain campsite with a roomy free area, clean facilities, and a good restaurant and shop. There’s also a nice playground, swimming pool, ping pong, and more.

We had a great time here, surrounded by nature and with hiking trails and bike tours right nearby. Even during the heatwave across much of Italy, the nights were pleasantly cool. You can light your own campfire by the tent. The pool was nice and the restaurant pretty good, though in high season things can get chaotic. We waited an hour for a pizza we’d pre-ordered, for example. The washing and shower area was clean and adequate.
