Residence Belvedere

Mrs. Adele greeted us when we arrived and was very kind and helpful. We stayed July 7th to 14th in the second ground-floor apartment facing the pool. The website makes the place look very well kept, but that wasn’t our experience, and I expected better. I won’t consider this residence for another holiday. The apartment wasn’t clean. The stovetop was sticky and spattered with grease, so I cleaned it before using it. There was no air conditioning, and the French window wouldn’t close, leaving the place vulnerable to anyone coming in while we were out. The TV remote was broken. The bed springs stuck out, and I still remember them in my sore hips. There was a moldy smell on the bed and in the closets. The lawn and hedges looked neglected, too. The kiosk bar only opened on our fourth day, after a friend got angry with Arturo, the handyman responsible for the pool, garden, and general maintenance. The pool was often unavailable until 10 a.m. for cleaning, although opening time was 9 a.m., and the lifeguard also only arrived on Thursdays.

We stayed from July 8th to 18th. The pool was much smaller than the website photos and wasn’t well maintained. There were ants, bees, and other insects everywhere, with no deckchairs or umbrella, and the garden around it was neglected. We paid another €50 to bring our dog after being promised a “nice gift” that never came. The apartment was very dirty, with spiders and cobwebs everywhere, plus a grimy stovetop and sink. The fridge smelled bad, the dishwasher didn’t work, and there was no coffee maker. The bed was noisy and terribly uncomfortable, with paper-thin pillows. We had no hot water on the first day. They charged €50 for cleaning, but what cleaning? The location was inconvenient for both the beach and Pineto centre, so we had to drive, and parking was hard to find. There was no air conditioning or mosquito netting. The sliding windows from the kitchen and bedroom to the balconies couldn’t be locked, so anyone could get in while we were away. Never again.

I stayed at Belvedere Residence with my family in July 2019. I already knew the place and had visited twice before, but by the third stay it had become unpleasant because of poor cleaning and guests’ mess being left behind. The deckchairs still hadn’t been replaced, either. The Wi-Fi was still pretty pitiful, though not quite as bad as last year. Mrs. Adele was very kind as usual. They charge 50 euros for cleaning but don’t even clean the place before guests arrive. I’ll leave it there and won’t add any more photos.
