It gets crowded around the lake during the day, but once the day visitors leave, the place becomes quiet and peaceful. The location is beautiful and makes a great base for all kinds of lovely hikes nearby. You can only get to the refugio on foot, while a small cable car carries your luggage. The rooms are on the small side, though comfortable, and the service was very friendly.

After a long hike, a sauna was just what I needed. This is a beautiful rifugio right beside a lake, with comfortable rooms and good food. Highly recommend.

The pasta with nuts we had was really delicious. Food here costs a little more than at similar places, and the extra 5eur service charge for one meal felt like too much.

We stopped for lunch before setting off on a longer mountain hike. The pasta and stew with potatos were only okay, and the prices seemed pretty inflated compared with other mountain shelters. The portions were the bigger problem, literally about half a serving, not even enough for a five year old child. There wasn't anything special about the food to make the cost feel worthwhile.

The trout dinners have stayed with me, and I've returned here more than 5 times on mountain bike trips. Everyone I've brought has loved it. Our ‚Mutprobe‘ was to go into the lake, and at night we'd have beers on the rocks across the water. My first visit was when I was just a couple of years old, and I was already fascinated by the baggage lift my parents had to load. One of the most amazing places I've visited, and I couldn't recommend it more!
