The only bottle I thought was worth trying was the one from Cannubi, at 75 euro. We left feeling we'd wasted our time. The hills and setting are lovely, so if scenery matters more to you than the wine, this could be your place. But the tasting itself gave us little useful insight into the region or the wines. The staff member mostly read the label, while dealing with a runny nose and wearing a lot of perfume, which didn't feel very professional for someone leading a tasting. It took forever for her to bring the wine, and she forgot the spitter. She also ran around looking for information about the land and soil, but never found it. My husband is preparing for WSET 4, and we came to get a better sense of the area and its wines. We've visited plenty of wineries, so we had experiences to compare. We also didn't care for the winemaking style. Barolo is often described as tar and roses on the nose, but this was mostly tar.
