Holiday House Ospedale B&B

The room smelled bad, and there was a rat in the kitchen. Our towels were dirty, and so were the kitchen dishes. Breakfast was just cookies and coffee.

We booked a room with a private bathroom, but it smelled bad. We also had to wait 20 minutes for the woman to arrive. I’d texted the owner to say we were at the station so they could come on time. The biggest problem was the air conditioning. We visited in summer, when it was really hot, but they kept turning it off and told us to set it to 25 degrees because it wasn’t that hot. When you pay for a place to stay, I think you should be able to decide about the A/C. I stayed another day because I was feeling a little sick and asked for the A/C to be turned on; he asked why I was there at that moment. The shower was tiny, too, and there were cigarette ashes in the bathroom when we arrived, even though we don’t smoke.

The owner was very kind and polite, and having a supermarket nearby helped us save money. Our bedroom had a refrigerator, and there was a comute oven in the kitchen. My wife and I chose the room with its own bathroom because that matters to us. We had a really nice stay apart from the shower: the space was tiny, and the curtain kept sticking to you.

Cleanliness was the main problem. The place didn’t look as clean as it did in the photos, and it wasn’t quiet. There was no photo showing the outside of the apartment, and the shared kitchen was also being used as an improvised office.
