Hotel Minerva

I've stayed here three times now, which says a lot. It's well placed for exploring Pisa or catching an early morning flight. The rooms are comfortable and have a/c, and breakfast is generous, with the option to eat in the garden. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay again.

The location was the only good thing for me. It was pretty decent, about a 20 minute walk to pisa tower. The rooms weren't good, the breakfast wasn't good, and the staff were horrible. There were three receptionists during our two nights, and only one was nice. The others were so disrespectful. They need to learn some manners. At breakfast, they seemed mean and judgy, and I felt watched while eating, as if they were waiting for me to finish. The food wasn't good either, mostly packaged cakes. Breakfast was meant to finish at 10am, but they started clearing everything at 9:20, even though we'd come down around 9:10 and were still trying to get food. There was a small blood stain on my pillow. I'm sure it wasn't makeup or anything like that, and I'm guessing it was an old stain, but it's disgusting. If a pillow is stained, get rid of it. The headboard also fell off the bed just from me sitting down. Weird. Go somewhere else!

The woman at reception was nice when she greeted us. Our room for three was small, and the hotel itself is old, but the room had been cleaned really well. Breakfast had a decent choice of things to eat, and the price was good. It's not far from the train station or from some sights.

We booked two rooms in October, and check-in went smoothly. The staff spoke English and were kind enough to use Google Translate when needed. The owner was super friendly too. Our room had a retro feel and was clean, with the basic toiletries provided and an extra blanket. We got breakfast on site, and I took hot water for tea back to my room. There are lots of restaurants if you walk toward the Leaning tower. All in all, it was a good stay and I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
