Villa Aurora Bed And Breakfast

The room had broken shelves, damaged shower seals, a rusty fridge, and almost no Wi-Fi. It was poorly furnished and didn’t feel clean or welcoming. After a few nights at Villa Aurora, I developed irritation across my body. A pharmacist said bed bugs were one possible cause, so I told the property managers and politely asked them to inspect the room and deal with anything they found. They contacted the pharmacy instead and threatened to report the pharmacist to the Association of Pharmacists. That evening, I checked the bed myself, as shown in the photo I attached, and asked the managers to inspect it too. They replaced the mattress but didn’t carry out any treatment. Their response was, as I recall, “What's it like to sleep with a bit of mold? If you'd gotten scabies, you could have complained.” I asked for €440 back, the cost of the four nights I’d spent in that bed. They first offered a €150 discount, then €350, and eventually a meeting with their lawyer. I refused because I found the request absurd. I finished my vacation taking antihistamines, received no reimbursement, and was nearly thrown out after being spoken to in an unprofessional and unkind way. There was no cleanliness or courtesy. For the price, it hardly felt like a three-star hotel.

We lasted two hours before leaving for another hotel that same night. The villa was filthy, with hair and other bits around, dirty towels, awful beds, walls that needed painting, no air conditioning, and mosquitoes everywhere. At night it was completely dark and very noisy. The owners, who live there with other people in separate rooms, seemed to make noise on purpose to bother us and gave us dirty looks. We sold ourselves on the idea of a villa, but what we found inside was disgusting and not worth the high price. We contacted the owner by WhatsApp and phone to explain, but she hasn’t replied or shown any concern. They take advantage of tourists to make money. Seriously, don’t go.

I wanted to leave on the first day, but was told I wouldn’t get any money back, and they were rude about it. The host was effectively absent and seemed to have no hospitality skills or experience. The room was deplorable, extremely dirty and damp, with suspicious smells. Wi-Fi didn’t work, phone signal was nonexistent, and there was no privacy. The listing promised private parking, which was a lie. You have to leave the car wherever you can find a spot. The only supposed “revolutionary technology” was a fan built into a light bulb with a remote, probably bought from a Chinese website. A horrible experience 🤮
