Agriturismo Fontana la Pietra

I was here for work, though this is clearly a very family oriented place. The rooms are on a working farm, and they’re clean and stylish. Staff are friendly, the pool is nice, and there’s a football pitch, tennis court, and gym. Breakfast was what you’d expect, with lovely cappuccinos. At dinner, the restaurant serves food from the farm alongside familiar Italian dishes like pasta and various meats.

The owner and his family went out of their way to help us with things a regular hotel probably wouldn’t, and the rooms were nice. It does feel very much geared toward families, though. I was there out of season, so food didn’t seem to be a priority and eating elsewhere was a must. There are lots of staff and animals on this family run farm. One donkey likes to wake everyone at 0630, but he’s alright. Facilities include a padel court, astro pitch, and swimming pool. The gym is there too, though it seemed unused and needs some attention.

Quiet and safe, with easy parking.

We stayed for one night for the New Year’s Eve dinner and lunch on January 1st. The rooms were basic, but clean and well equipped, so no complaints there. Some guests had problems with heating that wasn’t working, and management didn’t seem to care. Food was the biggest letdown: poor ingredients and poor execution. At a farmhouse, I expected simple, authentic local dishes, and none of that was on offer. The DJ did get us dancing and having fun, at least. A terrible stay, and we won’t be back.
