Palazzo 42 - Boutique Hotel Suites

Ilario was especially kind and helpful, and everyone made us feel welcome. We were delighted to find two bathrooms in our huge, beautifully designed room, and the comfortable stay was made even better by the lovely linens. Palazzo 42 Boutique Hotel is stylish and quiet, and we’d definitely stay there again when visiting Pistoia.

Having a shower roomy enough for wheelchair access and a room that was easy for me to get around made a big difference, since I have mobility issues. The staff arranged that for us, met us at the entrance, carried our luggage, and offered juice or water in a reception room while check-in was being finished. Our suite had a bedroom plus a living room that could be converted into another bedroom, with two full bathrooms. There’s a small breakfast bar and a fridge with a minibar at reasonable prices. A bottle of water was €1.50, a bargain by American standards. Parking was available, but I’d checked with them before the trip, so don’t assume there’ll be a space if you arrive without asking. The hotel is in the historic center. My husband and daughter enjoyed walking around and trying gelato they said was delizioso. The staff were happy to practice Italian pronunciation with us while we were learning. It was a great place to start our stay in Tuscany, with the feel of a Marriott boutique at half the price.

The rooms are updated and very clean, and the hotel is right in the heart of town. The front desk and other staff are kind, with five-star service. I stay here whenever I’m in Pistoia.

The common room is cozy, with sofas and armchairs, and breakfast offers plenty of choice with fresh produce. Our room was spacious, with simple elegance, and everything was thoughtfully provided, including a quiet fridge, kettle, and slippers. It feels like our home in Pistoia.
