We loved our stay enough to change our plans and book a second night. The residence is between the beach area, with its bars and restaurants, and the main plaza up the hill. It's a historic town built into a cliff, so keep in mind there are 37 steps to the room. If you want to get your steps in, we highly recommend staying here. If stairs are a problem for you, Pizzo itself may not be the place to visit. The room was modern and very clean, with a clothes washer, and the bed and pillows were the best we've had on this trip. We had booked the standard room but asked about a better ocean view. For a small fee, we moved to room S, with an unobstructed harbor view. It was spectacular, and with the double doors open we could hear the waves all night. We always read the bad reviews first, but in this case it seemed those reviewers had the wrong expectations. We're a couple in our late 50s, each with a carry-on and backpack, traveling around Europe for six weeks without reservations. We're also Airbnb superhosts, so we understand hospitality.
