After reaching Poggio Bustone on the Via di Francesco, I spent a night in one of the apartments they rent. I found it unacceptable. The place was filthy, with a strong musty odor, dust everywhere, and cobwebs in several spots. The kitchen was especially bad, with greasy, sticky surfaces and clear signs that it hadn’t been properly cleaned. Renting an apartment in that state is disrespectful to guests, whether pilgrims or anyone else. I was too exhausted after so many kilometers to leave, but I wouldn’t accept being put in the same situation again. It needs a thorough cleaning before it’s offered to anyone else.

The house of desires was huge, carefully looked after, very clean, and had every comfort. Its furnishings have an 80s style, and the room price felt low and fair. The owners, a mother and son, were well known and very kind and helpful. The place felt like a charming medieval fairytale. Restaurants, bars, the common bank, and other spots are less than 100 meters away, down steps through medieval ravines. Thank you for everything, congratulations on a FABULOUS place! 🙏

You get spectacular views of the valley from this centrally located little apartment. It has a kitchen, and the hosts were kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

Vincenzo was a wonderful host. The location is good, and breakfast came in good portions with plenty of variety, though it was all packaged food.
