I don't get all the negative comments. We wanted a vacation with locals who know the area, and this was just right. They helped us make pizzoccheri on our first day, then the next day he insisted on cooking for us himself and served delicious polenta. We played cards late that evening with good music on. He also pointed us toward some lovely places to visit nearby. Highly recommended.

The room and bathroom were clean, but the rest of the experience was really poor. The family greeted us in the kitchen with lit cigarettes and asked, almost contemptuously, whether smoking bothered us. Breakfast was included, yet we were offered one coffee capsule to split between me and my boyfriend because the man hadn't done any shopping. All that was left was a packet of Tuc crackers and some packaged croissants. Then he tried to get us out of the house as quickly as possible because he had a personal commitment.

We only went to look at the property, if you can call it that. A cat was crawling on the table when we came in, and breakfast was already laid out for the next day. There were cigarette butts and a nauseating smell. The rooms were filthy and covered in cobwebs, and the bathroom was shared with 15 people. The owner's clothes were left lying around too. I won't go on. We ran away!

The area is quiet, away from the traffic and chaos of town, and Sergio, the owner, is friendly and welcoming. Walk up to the little square and there's a beautiful view to take in. If you're after a simple place where you can unwind, this could suit you.
