Cantaluna B&B

Francesco, “the Tenor,” was so friendly and polite when we met him. My partner and I loved staying at this little paradise in Polignano a Mare. It's conveniently close to the sea, parking, and all the amenities around this wonderful town. The place feels magical thanks to its cleanliness, hygiene, and quality. Francesco is putting in a lot of work to make it even better. We'll be back, thank you!

The place is clean and pleasant despite being minimalist, and the owner was kind, welcoming, and helpful. It's also quiet while still being close to the center. But calling it a B&B feels misleading when there's no breakfast, just a place to sleep. We stayed five days and got neither room cleaning nor fresh bathroom linen. There are a number of things that need more attention. The steep stairs at the entrance aren't suitable for people with mobility problems, and that should be mentioned at booking. The shower is clogged with limescale and has such a weak flow that washing is uncomfortable. At night the lighting is very dim, with some lights not working, especially upstairs. The Wi-Fi password is on the door, but there's no actual service. The single air conditioner is quite old and barely adjusts the temperature. The little fan in the loft doesn't make it possible to sleep comfortably in the intense heat. If you can adapt, don't expect too much, and can handle the heat, the B&B is still more than adequate.

The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the room was perfect, really spacious with a bedroom upstairs. This B&B is right in central Polignano, almost beside the train station. The one drawback was the air conditioning, which didn't work very well.

The owner was unbelievably kind, waiting for us below Polignano station and walking us right to our room. The place was lovely, just steps from the square, and our mezzanine bed room was spotless and tidy, not a mark or stain anywhere. I'm tall, so having the bed up in the loft meant I had to duck to avoid hitting my head. That's just a personal issue, though, and not something the owners can be blamed for. I'll definitely come back!
