Dimora Girolamo charming rooms

Matteo was a huge help for weeks before we traveled and throughout the trip. He replied to all my questions quickly and helped plan our activities. We arrived late, and he even met us by the car to show us directly around town, point out restaurants, and make recommendations. He really went above and beyond to help us get settled and feel comfortable. The house was clean and spacious, and we felt very safe there. It’s about a 10 min walk to town, around 10 min from all from train station, and about 10 min on foot from the paid private parking area. We loved the sounds of local life. We left the windows open all night, hearing people going about their everyday routines. There’s a park up the block, so during the day we heard kids playing and laughing. Local Italian conversations in the evening and morning were lovely too. Overnight it was quiet and peaceful. Polignano was a great town, authentic, with gorgeous views and great restaurants. The house also worked well as a base for daytime trips: about an 1.5 hours from Matera, about 1 hour from Lecce, about 2 hours from Otranto, about 45 months from Ostuni, and about 30-40 min from Alberobello. We stayed for 9 days and found it a perfect base. Highly recommend.
