The Loft Polignano

I expected The Loft in Polignano to have a cool feel, but the stay was a mess. Achille barely said hello, handed over the keys, and vanished. The place looked nice online, though in person it was dusty, the floor was sticky, and the broken shower sprayed everywhere. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, and when I messaged him, he told me, “Figure it out.” Street noise kept me awake, and the so-called private terrace was overgrown and full of trash. Way too expensive for a dump with such a rude host. Skip it!

Achille, the owner, was so kind and pointed us toward good places to eat and ways to enjoy Polignano. We felt at home straight away. The Loft has a carefully done industrial look and great technology, especially that huge projector, which makes the bedroom feel like a private cinema. It’s on a very quiet street, yet only a short walk from the city center. A perfect stay in Polignano, definitely recommended. Hope we can come back soon!

The owner knew the ground floor was freezing and suggested the kids could sleep upstairs. I wasn’t going to leave my 3-year-old on an upper floor with stairs, especially after she found a hole hidden by a bench that she could easily move and fall through. THIEFS!!! We booked the loft for four people, two adults and two kids, for a week in January. For a couple it might have been fine, but with children at that time of year it was a no-go. The ground-floor window was badly insulated and cold air came through. The AC could only heat the upper floor, leaving the bottom floor freezing. I only asked the owner whether we could cancel because the conditions weren’t suitable for a 3-year-old. He said we’d lose the €150 deposit we’d already paid, enough to cover two days. Five minutes later a woman arrived and said we had to decide in five minutes whether to stay, because she had other things to do and couldn’t come back later. It felt like she was throwing us out. We had to leave without even having time to find somewhere else, with two kids in tow. From the excuses the owner gave me on the phone, he knew the place wasn’t suitable for the four of us and should never have accepted the booking if he was acting properly. I don’t usually write bad reviews and hate people who do, but this was so bad I had to say something for the first time. I’ve never been treated that badly or thrown out after paying €150. The owner is a thief!

The shower has an LED light above you, so it gives a romantic, starry feel, though they aren’t actual stars! It’s a simple, comfortable and really unique place, just what you need for a visit to Polignano. It’s nicely located in the center. I’ll definitely come back!
