Fonte La Perna

Mr Enzo and his wife made us feel very welcome. Their home-cooked food was the best, and they even gave us home-grown figs and prunes for the road. A wonderful experience, highly recommend.

Our 15-day road trip through France, Spain, and Italy ended in Ancona, and we needed a place for our family of 5 before taking the ferry home to Greece the next day. I arrived on the afternoon of July 6, 2022, without a room booked and pretty stressed. I called Fonte la Perna, an agrotourismo Bed and Breakfast, and the owner was welcoming and spoke pretty good English. The 25-minute drive from Ancona took us into the hills past lots of sunflower fields, and the whole family was there to greet us. We found a spacious, complete 2-room home with a kitchen, espresso machine, front and back yards, and parking. I only wish we could have stayed a couple more nights. The owner's son suggested Ristorante Villa Nappi, which was the icing on the cake: great food and pasta made fresh daily. Polverigi is a lovely little commune in the Ancona district. We loved it and hope to return someday, or at least recommend it to friends.

The welcome was warm from both sides, and the rooms were very clean. They asked whether we preferred a sweet or savory breakfast, and were friendly with the children. We’ll definitely come back.

Enzo made us feel so warmly welcomed, and the service was second to none in my opinion. He’s a unique, exemplary person, and his wife’s breakfast cakes were plentiful and delicious. The rooms are spacious, clean, and fragrant, with every amenity, and there’s a beautiful, well-kept garden. The whole property is welcoming and spotless, with guest parking, not far from the highway and overlooking hills full of sunflowers. I’ll definitely return. Thanks for everything, and bravo!
